RELEASE Erickson Appointed to Pennsylvania Local Government Commission Harrisburg – State Sen. Ted Erickson (R-26) has been appointed to a state commission that proposes legislation to help local governments be more effective and efficient. Senate President Pro Tempore Robert Jubelirer appointed Erickson to the Pennsylvania Local Government Commission. Erickson also serves as chairman of the Senate Local Government Committee. "I know from my previous experience in local government that efficient operation and delivery of services can keep taxes in check and allow healthy communities to grow. The Local Government Commission provides research and assistance to communities, and I am proud to be a part of that effort," said Erickson. Senator Erickson has previously worked as Executive Director of Delaware County and Chief Administrative Officer of Upper Darby Township, running the day-to-day operation of township government. Created in 1935, the Pennsylvania Local Government Commission is one of the oldest agencies of its kind in the United States. More information on the commission can be found at www.lgc.state.pa.us.
