RELEASE Pennsylvania Senate Passes Erickson Resolution Calling on FAA to Hold Public Hearings State Senator Edwin "Ted" Erickson (R-26) announced that the Pennsylvania Senate this week unanimously passed his Resolution that addressed the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) plan to reroute air traffic over Delaware County. Senate Resolution No. 311 calls on the Federal Aviation Administration to conduct at least three public hearings throughout Delaware County to properly inform residents and government officials of the Federal Aviation Administration's proposed air traffic diversion plan, to explore the health, safety and impact on quality of life by diverting air traffic over a densely populated residential area, to afford residents and government officials an opportunity to provide meaningful comment on the plan, and to obtain additional input on the environmental impact of its flight diversion plan. "The FAA has not fully considered the impact of their ridiculous plan on the quality of life of the residents of Delaware County. They appear to be interested only in adding more air traffic to our area without any consideration of our residents. We must make our voices heard by the FAA," Erickson said. The Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed an identical Resolution, sponsored by Representative Tom Gannon. For more information, contact Tom Golden at 610.853.4100 |
