April 29, 2008 from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. in Hearing Room 1 in the North Office Building.
Senate Public Health and Welfare Committee will hold a public hearing regarding the Department of Public Welfare's proposal to carve pharmaceutical services out of its managed care programs.

April 15, 2008 from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Clark Center Auditorium, Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pennsylvania.  This is the second committee hearing regarding Pennsylvania health clinics that provide care for low income and uninsured residents.

April 9, 2008 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in Room 8E-A in the East Wing.
Pennsylvania health clinics provide health care for low income and uninsured residents in the Commonwealth. This hearing will explore the different types of clinics, who utilizes them, and how we can enhance services being provided.

Regulation #14-513 (Proposed) -- Department of Public Welfare regulation to add a new Chapter 108 to Title 55 of the PA Code to codify requirements under the Transitional Aid to Needy Families (TANF) and General Assistance (GA) programs that can be waived for victims of domestic violence, received August 5, 2008.

Regulation #14-514 (Proposed) -- Department of Public Welfare Regulation to establish minimum standards for Assisted Living Facilities, received July 28, 2008.

Regulation #10-181 (Proposed) -- Department of Health regulation amending the current school immunization requirements, received January 24, 2008

Regulation #10-180 (Proposed) - Department of Health regulation to revise current rules governing the authorization and management of retail grocery stores that participate in the WIC Program  and to establish procedures for administrative appeals by WIC applicants, participants, local agencies, and grocery stores , received August 15, 2008 .

March 19, 2009 - Committee Approves HealthNET Bills to Expand Access to Community Health Care, Physicians, Medicine

September 20, 2007 - Sexual Assault Victim Emergency Services

The Public Health and Welfare Committee has received a final regulation, #10-182 (PDF), from the Department of Health. This regulation establishes the physical and psychological treatment requirements that hospitals must provide to victims of sexual assault.

The Independent Regulatory Review Commission will consider this final regulation at its meeting tentatively scheduled for October 18th at 10:30 a.m. Under the Regulatory Review Act, the Senate Public Health and Welfare Committee can take action on the final regulation at any time up to 24 hours before the IRRC meeting. If the Committee does not take any action, the regulation is considered deemed approved by the Committee.
