director services, received November 29, 2007 News September 20, 2007 - Sexual Assault Victim Emergency Services The Public Health and Welfare Committee has received a final regulation, #10-182 (PDF), from the Department of Health. This regulation establishes the physical and psychological treatment requirements that hospitals must provide to victims of sexual assault. The Independent Regulatory Review Commission will consider this final regulation at its meeting tentatively scheduled for October 18th at 10:30 a.m. Under the Regulatory Review Act, the Senate Public Health and Welfare Committee can take action on the final regulation at any time up to 24 hours before the IRRC meeting. If the Committee does not take any action, the regulation is considered deemed approved by the Committee.
